摘要: Abstract The objective of this study is to investigate the wear and rolling contact fatigue (RCF) damage wheel rail materials under alternating temperature conditions. Two series rolling-sliding tests were performed: (1) at 20 °C for 75,000 cycles, then continued −40 °C 10,000, 30,000, respectively; (2) respectively. results indicated that decrease in would alleviate due formation debris layer. Both rising dropping environmental during could lead increase wear. Besides, plastic deformation work hardening discs. In addition, crack initiation was correlated with behaviour flow on wheel. At 20 °C, long single cracks initiated propagated along highly deformed ferrite boundaries. −40 °C, white-etching layer (WEL) observed only surface, which mainly attributed severe deformation. Then, refined ferrites WELs main sources
