The CBC microstrip readout chip for CMS at the High Luminosity LHC

摘要: The CMS Binary Chip (CBC) is designed for readout of silicon microstrips in the Tracker at High Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC). Binary, unsparsified well suited to high luminosity environment, where particle fluences and data rates will be much higher than LHC. In September 2011, a module comprising CBC bonded microstrip sensor was tested with 400 GeV protons H8 beamline CERN. Performance agreement expectations. spatial resolution has been shown better pitch/ p 12 due distribution one two strip clusters. Large cluster events show consistency production delta rays. At operating thresholds, hit efficiency approximately 98%, limited by timing apparatus, while noise occupancy measured below 10 4 . charge deposition reconstructed measurement as function comparator threshold; assuming underlying Landau.
