摘要: Abstract The mechanical behaviour of an Al alloy/SiC particle reinforced composite undergoing thermomechanical fatigue, i.e. cyclic loading and temperature change, is simulated. Continuum Micromechanics approach taken where individual reinforcing particles are represented using idealised 3D repeating unit cell finite element model. constitutive theories used, viz. elasticity for the SiC elasticity-J 2 flow theory plasticity matrix. results compared with published experimental macroscale data thermo-mechanical fatigue composite. effects shape fracture assessed. Interfacial debonding simulated a simple elastic strain energy/element removal method.
