摘要: To the Editor. —Postvitrectomy fluid-air exchange is a useful procedure for treatment of recurrent vitreous hemorrhage and persistent or retinal detachment. Recently, several reports have described techniques outpatient exchange. 1-3 Landers associates 1 single syringe needle "push-pull" technique in which filled with air an air-gas mixture. A similar was recently by Kleiner 2 two syringes could be attached to via special connector. In this way, long-acting gas such as sulfur hexafluoride perfluoropropane can injected. Long-acting tamponade often required proliferative vitreoretinopathy. Furthermore, using slightly expansile concentrations facilitates more complete fill. Unfortunately, these cause rapid changes intraocular pressure or, commonly, introduction small bubbles known "fish eggs." The preclude further postoperative laser therapy.
