摘要: Bioactive molecules in berries may be helpful reducing the risk of oral diseases. The aim this study was to determine effect bilberry consumption on outcome a routine dental clinical parameter inflammation, bleeding probing (BOP), as well impact selected biomarkers such cytokines, gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) individuals with gingivitis. Study who did not receive standard care treatment were allocated either placebo group or groups that consumed 250 500 g bilberries daily over seven days. an inactive product (starch). A group, receiving (debridement only) also included provide reference outcome. Cytokine levels assayed using Luminex MagPix system. mean reduction BOP before and after test 1 week 41% 59% bilberries/day respectively, 31% 58% group. analysis only showed significantreduction cytokine bilberries/day. statistically significant observed for IL-1β (p = 0.025), IL-6 0.012) VEGF 0.017) GCF samples daily. It appears berry intake has ameliorating some markers inflammation gingivitis similar extent compared care.
