摘要: Purpose: To evaluate the relationship between human papillomavirus (HPV) status and known prognostic makers for head neck cancers including tumor hypoxia, epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) expression intratumoral T-cell levels to determine impact of these markers by HPV status. Methods Materials: in 82 evaluable squamous cell carcinomas patients was determined pyrosequencing related p16{sup INK4a} staining treatment outcomes. It correlated with hypoxia (tumor pO{sub 2} carbonic anhydrase [CAIX] staining), EGFR status, lymphocyte (CD3 staining). Results: Forty-four percent tumors had strong signal pyrosequencing. There a significant as well oropharynx location. The group fared significantly better than others, both time progression (TTP, p = 0.008) overall survival (OS, 0.004) all oropharyngeal subset. Positive associated TTP (p 0.014) OS 0.00002). no or CAIX staining. However, inversely reactivity 0.0006)more » directly CD3(+) T-lymphocyte level 0.03). Whereas overexpression were negative factors regardless only HPV(-) tumors. Conclusion: survival. infiltration. effect not influenced whereas tumors.« less
