摘要: We used event-related functional magnetic resonance imaging to identify brain regions involved in syntactic and semantic processing. Healthy adult males read well-formed sentences randomly intermixed with which either contained violations of structure or were semantically implausible. Reading anomalous sentences, as compared yielded distinct patterns activation for the two violation types. Syntactic elicited significantly greater than primarily superior frontal cortex. Semantically incongruent left hippocampal parahippocampal gyri, angular gyri bilaterally, right middle temporal gyrus, inferior sulcus. These results demonstrate that processing result nonidentical activation, including engagement during larger increases temporo-parietal analyses.
