摘要: The use of optical add/drop multiplexers (OADMs) is considered as a possible way to save the number transponders required at network node by optically bypassing wavelengths that do not need be dropped. There are many different flavors OADMs offered vendors. In this paper, we give taxonomy from perspectives both technology considerations and implications on performance. purpose serve frame work for cost performance studies dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) transmission systems.
