摘要: Demand-side management (DSM) has the potential to reduce electricity costs and carbon emissions associated with use for industrial consumers. It also an important role play in integrating variable forms of generation, such as wind solar, into grid. This will be a key part any grid decarbonisation strategy. paper describes method that can used develop new production schedule wide range manufacturing facilities. The minimises either or electricity-derived CO2 emissions. does so by rescheduling low cost periods, without loss overall production, within constraints available inventory storage. A case study single cement plant UK was performed order determine benefits increased load-shifting DSM using this method. alternative scheduled showed decrease 4.2%. Scaled values from typical would lead saving £350,000, substantial saving. optimised minimise save estimated 2000 tonnes per year CO2, 4% observed actual consumption considerably higher than minimum predicted model. could indicate significant savings both due improvements energy efficiency. doubled when prices passed were replaced price varied proportion wholesale electricity. indicates mutual benefit exists consumers generators passing on more variation price. larger share generation solar intensity future. value applying described is therefore likely increase further
