Association of Particulate Matter Impact on Prevalence of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease in Ahvaz, Southwest Iran during 2009–2013

摘要: ABSTRACTAir pollutants produced in environments have many detrimental impacts on human health. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a common worldwide respiratory disease. The aim of this study was to estimate the association between load particulate matters and prevalence COPD Ahvaz, southwest Iran, during 2009–2013. This epidemiological used-model performed Ahvaz. Particulate matter equal or less than 10 micro meters (PM10) monitored by Ahvaz Environmental Protection Agency (AEPA). Sampling hourly period 4 stations. In study, 175200 (4 × 24 365 5) samples air were taken collected. analysis according EPA guideline. We utilized relative risk values baseline incidence measures WHO (Middle East) drawn from Health Effects Association Matter. Finally, attributed exposure calculated Air Q model. According our findings, decreased 2009–2013 followed decreasing trend. Accordingly, yearly 121, 111, 94, 102, 98, average PM10 concentrations same 313.72, 281.98, 288.38, 278.12, 242.29 µg m–3, respectively. Although 5-year higher NAAQS values, descending trend for indicates that level diminished 2009 2013. Therefore mitigating pollutant particularly as one main hazards could be possibly led remarkable decrease rate mortality morbidity PM10.
