摘要: Abstract The nature of turnout has changed in the United States: a shift state policies transformed singular Election Day into multi-week voting period. During 2012 election, we assembled daily snapshots early records across U.S. We observe where and when individuals with key demographic characteristics voted. By measuring timing by subgroups within small geographic areas, assess how period may differentially affect various politically relevant subsets electorate. find that partisans older voters disproportionately take advantage voting, political independents younger who vote do so much later early-voting window. discuss policy implications, also conduct an exploratory analysis relationship between campaign events.
