摘要: Data are presented for the refractive index profiles low-dose He+ ion-implanted LiNbO3 waveguides. In nuclear stopping region, extraordinary is increased low ion doses, by contrast with reduction normally associated waveguiding structures. The increase was confirmed fabricating a buried waveguide use of multi-energy implants. For single-energy implants, data shown which map at surface together that in collision zone, as function angle relative to z axis light propagation waveguides X and Y cut LiNbO3. These indices cross over near 45°, results mode gap modes not supported. A mechanism this behavior discussed based on defect-induced lattice relaxation. phenomenon controlled may have applicability optoelectronic nonlinear materials devices.
