摘要: This study evaluates the convectively coupled equatorial waves in ten general circulation models (GCMs) twentieth century experiment from Coupled Model Intercomparison Project phase 3 of World Climate Research Programme. The antisymmetric bands all GCMs are weaker than observations, and mixed Rossby-gravity (MRG) wave seems to be a mixture Rossby (ER) tropical depression-type (TD-type) rather ER inertiogravity found observations. simulated TD-type is more organized observations with quasilinear wavenumber–frequency relationship. In most GCMs, two observed activity centers MRG over southern Indian Ocean southwestern Pacific cannot separated; only one center Maritime Continent. northwestward propagation western North also not well GCMs. active season northern hemisphere during boreal summer fall much shorter CCSR utilizing Pan Randall scheme convection suppression simulate realistic Kelvin maximum near equator, while activities filtered for other similar extratropical at higher latitudes. Likewise, these produce seasonal cycle activity.
