Urban Populations of the Red Squirrel (Sciurus vulgaris) in Warsaw

摘要: We conducted visual surveys of the red squirrel Sciurus vulgaris in 2005 11 parks and city forests Warsaw with particular focus on population Łazienki Park center. found a significant association between size park number observed squirrels, highest occurring Park. In this park, abundance index was 1.8 individuals per ha, which three times higher than 1956 1986, when similar were carried out. The squirrels influenced by season, temperature, air humidity tree species, seeds are potential food source for squirrels.
