摘要: Coronary heart disease mortality has declined in the United States since 1968. Because diet been implicated, a search was conducted of published individual assessments food intake 1920. One hundred seventy-one studies, ranging from 8 to 20,000 subjects and covering all ages, ethnic groups, both sexes, were analyzed by regression, with values weighted number each study. Results show fat intakes rising approximately 34% energy 1930s 40-42% late 1950s mid 1960s then falling steadily 36% 1984. This trend seen for age sex groups. Saturated monounsaturated fatty acid fell 18-20% early 12-13% 1984 whereas polyunsaturated rose 2-4% 7.5%. These results differ markedly supply trends indicate fall US intake, which preceded decline mortality.
