摘要: Exploitation of hybrid vigour is quite possible in cross-pollinated crops. However, pigeonpea a grain legume crop with moderate level cross-pollination (20–70%), which mainly aided by insect pollinators. As first step, hybrids based on genetic male sterility (GMS) were developed pigeonpea, but the seed production technique not farmer-friendly, because plot 50% population, are male-fertile female rows, have to be eliminated time before contamination. This requires skilled labour and time-consuming process, increases cost production. Therefore, objective this study was develop cytoplasmic-genetic male-sterile (CGMS) lines through wide hybridization, would very suitable for Two CGMS lines, viz. CORG 990052 A 990047, interspecific hybridization ofCajanus cajan andC. scarabaeoides. Restorers identified three CGMS-based developed. The COPH 3 found promising Tamil Nadu State, India.
