摘要: Ventilation and dissolved oxygen in Lake Superior are key factors that determine the fate of various natural anthropogenic inputs to lake. We employ an idealized age tracer biogeochemical tracers a realistically configured numerical model characterize its ventilation O2 cycle. Our results indicate is preferentially ventilated over rough bathymetry spring overturning following very cold winter does not completely ventilate lake interior. While this unexpected for dimictic lake, no part remains isolated from atmosphere more than 300 days. also show Superior's cycle dominated by solubility changes; as result, expected relationship between biological consumption manifest.
