摘要: Abstract Aim To establish a Breslow thickness (BT) cut-off point for indication of PET/CT cutaneous melanoma in early stages and evaluate its prognostic value. Material methods Retrospective analysis 347 studies with diagnosis melanoma, which 108 were performed initial staging. Thirty-one patients excluded, final sample 77 remained. A ROC curve was to an optimal point. survival performed, considering death assignable as the main event, evaluation Results Forty-seven (61.04%) all selected men, 11 (14.29%) had positive result. Mean age 65.17 ± 15.00 years. The median BT negative result 2.75 mm (IQR 1.83–4.50) group 6.25 mm 5.40–7.50) ( p = 0.0013). In (AUC 0.804, SE 0.054), value 5 mm following values obtained: sensitivity 90.91%, specificity 78.79%, predictive (NPV) 98.1%, (PPV) 41.7%, diagnostic OR 37.1, accuracy 80.52%. follow-up 18.66 ± 14.35 months, detecting 2/53 (3.77%) deaths BT Conclusions correctly distinguishes those from results melanoma; therefore it could be included staging this subgroup patients.
