Using Zambia as a case study, this article explores causes and consequences middle-tier transformation on future small-scale agriculture. Combining political economic analysis with household survey data, examines relationships between farmers changing conditions land access, inequality, alienation for Growth associated high inequality potential areas. This shown be partially driven by wage earner investment acquisition leading substantial under-utilization land.
