摘要: Objective To study the association of serum calcium, magnesium, copper and zinc concentrations with cardiovascular mortality. Design A nested case-control within a prospective population study. Subjects methods 230 men dying from diseases 298 controls matched for age, place residence, smoking follow-up time. Mean time was 10 years. Serum were determined samples kept frozen at -20 degrees C. Results High low significantly associated an increased mortality all coronary heart disease in particular. The relative risk between highest lowest tertiles 2.86 (P = 0.03) 0.69 0.04), respectively. Adjustment social class, cholesterol, body mass index, hypertension known baseline examination did not materially alter results. No significant differences observed calcium magnesium cases controls. Conclusions are whereas no found risk.
