摘要: The export of vegetables from African countries to European markets presents consumers with an ethical dilemma: should they support local, but relatively well-off farmers, or poorer farmers distant countries? This paper considers the issue farm worker health in U.K. and Uganda, dilemma facing if Uganda achieves their aim exporting more Self-reported scores 1,200 workers were measured internationally recognised SF-36 questionnaire compared international population norm. age-corrected status was significantly lower than norm, whereas Ugandans scored higher (indicating good health) for physical mental health. If Ugandan produce enters markets, then may wish consider both potential benefits that enhanced trade could offer its impacts on workers.
