Long-term impacts of the equal employment opportunity act in Japan

摘要: In this paper, I survey the literature on impact of Equal Employment Opportunity Act (EEOA) labor market outcomes women in Japan. The findings are as follows. First, after enactment EEOA, regular full-time employment rose among highly educated younger than age 40. Second, examined separately by marital status, did not increase for either married or single women, compared with their predecessors. These patterns reflect fact that marriage rates fell passage EEOA. Third, female-to-male wage ratio and average tenure female workers to male improved, mainly less-educated over 40, but young women. Finally, there regional differences increases women: namely, it increased significantly Tokyo.
