摘要: The H+/peptide cotransporter PEPT2 is expressed in a variety of organs including kidney, lung, brain, mammary gland, and eye. substrates are di- tripeptides as well peptidomimetics, such β-lactam antibiotics. Due to the presence at bronchial epithelium, aerosolic administration peptide-like drugs might play major role future treatment various pulmonary systemic diseases. Moreover, has significant influence on vivo disposition half-life time within body, particularly kidney brain. known have similar but not identical structural requirements for substrate recognition transport compared PEPT1, its intestinal counterpart. In this review we compiled available affinity constants 352 compounds, measured different mammalian tissues expression systems compare data whenever possible with those PEPT1.
