摘要: Background: To be cared for in an intensive care unit (ICU) after a complicated childbirth is often unplanned and transforming experience, there lack of studies describing mothers' experiences this phenomenon. Aim: The aim study was to describe the becoming mother delivery stay ICU. Methods: Qualitative personal interviews were conducted with eight mothers. interview texts subjected qualitative thematic content analysis. Findings: analysis resulted one theme; wishing control together as family, six categories; being or not prepared, feeling afraid, ill others, knowing about baby, worrying father having someone talk to. findings highlight need receive continual information what happening, especially family. Conclusion relevance clinical practice: mothers support encouragement from staff throughout their hospital stay, sometimes afterwards. There information, have one's family close by, when ICU despite illness severity. How new met by great importance.
