摘要: The unprecedented damage to steel structures during the Hyogo-ken Nanbu Earthquake not only prompted revision of Japanese seismic code but also emphasized need for a comprehensive understanding response, which in reality is complex and multi-directional, as opposed conventionally assumed uni-directional approach. Thus, this experimental study investigated effects multi-directional load histories on response tubular columns widely used construction elevated highways building structures. Test results indicate that, comparison with uniaxial displacement paths, patterns lead significant degradation stiffness, strength ductility columns.
