A Curves Approximated Multiple-Spring Model Seismic Response Simulation for Square-Section Steel Bridge Piers

摘要: In this study, a seismic response simulation method based on the multiple-spring (MS) model and constitutive rules using curve approximation is proposed to predict nonlinear of steel bridge piers with rectangular cross-sections excited by bi-directional ground motions. A series approximated curves hysteretic are adopted equivalent stress-strain relationship spring elements distributed base cross-section thin-walled column. process, strain each can be calculated from column’s displacements geometric coordinates, while horizontal restoring force obtained forces springs’ stress tributary areas. To verify accuracy model, results 6 uni-directional pseudodynamic tests 3 compared numerical results. The validity demonstrated good in displacement between test simulations.
