摘要: Decision makers challenged by real-world adaptive problems must often select a course of action quickly, despite two computational obstacles: There is usually vast number possible courses that can be explored, and similarly consequences considered when evaluating these options. Thus, decision routinely face the frame problem: how to focus attention on adaptively relevant information keep this set small enough mind actually perform computations necessary generate behavior. By identifying simple, effective heuristics work within informational constraints an organism still result in adequate behavior, new ecological rationality perspective evolutionary psychology suggests intelligent agents overcome problem. In chapter we show ecologically rational psychological mechanisms address challenges derived from 1) Using example sequential mate choice, demonstrate satisficing search strategy lead good decisions using only limited amount information; 2) We argue emotions guide search, focusing precisely which most useful for making outcomes over long run.
