摘要: Calcitonin (CT) is one of the most recently discovered calcium-regulating hormones; first brief allusion to its existence appeared in 1961.1 The assays for CT were based on hypocalcemic property upon injection into rats.2,3 Radioimmunoassays animal calcitonins soon followed, but availability sensitive radioimmunoassays human (hCT) awaited determination amino acid sequence synthesis hormone.4 There are now well over 20 published that vary such basic elements as antisera, buffer constituents, incubation conditions, and tracer preparation; sensitivity final results also vary.
