摘要: Background: Gabapentin has been shown to provide pain relief for post-herpetic neuralgia at dosage of 1,200 2,400 mg/day. However, the initial dosing strategy not thoroughly investigated. The purpose this study was establish in treatment gabapentin-naive patients with neuralgia. Methods: This clinical an open-label, randomized, time-sequence and controlled trial. Each subject allocated receive either 200 mg (100 mg, twice daily), 400 four times or 600 (200 three daily) gabapentin days. analgesic effect occurrence dizziness, drowsiness, fatigue were assessed day 0 3. Results: A total 61 subjects (32 male/29 female) enrolled study. intensity greatly improved all groups after days (visual analog scale decreased from 6.5±1.6 4.5±2.1, P<0.05). There no statistically significant difference among taking respect drowsiness fatigue. Conclusions: shows that elderly matter whether receiving 200, mg/day benefited a moderate minimal side effects first Since starting dose did offer better reduction effects, we suggest could be safe effective
