摘要: Introduction: Smoking is one of the main public health problems in developed countries. Despite extensive evidence on effects smoking both oral and general health, rate cessation not promising. Material Methods: To review knowledge programs for by dentists, a literature was carried out from dentist’s perspective, as well behavioral guidelines that have been recently proposed these interventions. We used keywords “Tobacco”, “Smoking Prevention”, “Public Health” AND “Dentistry”, to identify controlled studies, systematic reviews meta-analyses published between 1999 2014, Google Scholar, SCOPUS PubMed. Results: Out 177 studies found, 35 were considered, divided into 2 groups 20 15 articles respectively, according type study inclusion criteria. Conclusions: There considerable scientific describing dentistry, which support their effectiveness. Overall, are brief interventions complemented pharmacological treatment, with participation entire dental team.
