摘要: Rock art contexts are a fragile aspect of the world’s cultural heritage and have always attracted attention scientists, institutions, stakeholders, visitors. UNESCO gives due recognition to this significance by including many sites on its World Heritage List. The Tadrart Akakus in SW Libya was awarded status 1985. However, over past decade, given series threats (tourism, infrastructure, oil exploitation), these Holocene become increasingly endangered. central authorities local stakeholders failed reach unanimous consensus best practices be adopted tackle situation; proposed solutions range from total closure area self-regulation. research presented here aims demonstrate that simple measures at individual (information panels, fences), integrated comprehensive inter- multi-disciplinary study rock (in particular, statistical GIS analysis), may represent way help politicians dynamically manage site.
