摘要: Aims.  To explore and describe the distinctive role of nurses in delivering school health services for primary secondary students Hong Kong. Background.  The practical responsibility has not been established. There is no literature on this topic and, particular, nothing written from perspective practitioner communities Kong. Design.  A qualitative design using semi-structured interviews was employed. Methods.  Thirteen were recruited interviewed 2006. narratives analysed content analysis steps to identify categories. Results.  Seven categories formulated. School described their roles as providers, counsellors, leaders, promoters, collaborators, referrers administrators housekeepers. also reported that they needed maintain a diverse range skills knowledge, such effective communication clinical updated cope with demands diversity support educational needs local communities. Conclusion.  future development ‘one school, one nurse’ policy envisaged by current government ordinary schools Kong will occur unless clearly delineated valued society reducing children’s adolescents’ risk-taking behaviours promoting well-being children adolescents. Relevance practice.  findings provide relevant information nurse leaders makers understand how are practicing child adolescent services, which can inform regional national practice.
