The Influence of β-Adrenoceptor Blocking Agents on Plasma Thyroxine and Triiodothyronine

摘要: The effect of the beta-adrenoceptor blocking agent propranolol on plasma levels thyroxine and triiodothyronine was studied in eleven hyperthyroid patients six hypothyroid L-thyroxine substitution therapy. In all a decrease plasma-triiodothyronine found. per cent same both groups. Plasma thyrotropin increased patients, but remained constant subjects. during medication is most likely caused by an inhibition peripheral conversion into triiodothyronine.
