摘要: Experimental studies are presented on quasi-static tensile and compressive loading of composites hybridised at two levels: intraply interply. Consistent reinforcements in the form novel unidirectional fabrics were developed using T700SC carbon E-CR glass fibres. Composites manufactured Resin Transfer Moulding process with epoxy resin characterised to ensure consistency comparability, further enabling easier understanding confirmation hybrid effect a reliable way. Failure strain tension for interply revealed positive +7.4%, while showed negative −6.4% compression. Intraply three tows blocked together demonstrated best mechanical performance among all hybrids; synergistic effects +17.8% +39.6% strength, respectively, was observed this configuration. The results show that different hybridisation strategies can be exploited balance cost structural lightweight applications.
