摘要: Abstract does not appear. First page follows. Introduction During the past few decades study of transmission plant viruses by insects has become increasingly important. Of various groups insects which act as vectors, aphids are probably most important, both in number species vectors and different transmissible them. It is intention this paper to report on details some recent experimental work Brassica nigra virus (Takahashi, 1949), review knowledge date concerning aphid nonpersistent order present a hypothesis mode group aphids. The first portion concerned with unreported work. Materials Methods was originally obtained from Dr. W. N. Takahashi, has been maintained juncea Coss. laboratory for experimental purposes. Test plants were B. seedlings, unless otherwise noted. vector principally used green peach aphid, Myzus persicae (Sulzer), trials also including turnip (= false cabbage aphid), Rhopalosiphum pseudobrassicae (Davis). Noninfective colonies healthy plants. Insects transferred camel’s hair brush, acquisition feedings, otherwise noted, watched timed stop watch. fumigated after the test-feeding period before being placed greenhouse incubation. greenhouses routinely sprayed prevent buildup. More detailed descriptions methods given connection specific experiments.
