摘要: To assess the role of complement in renal infection, we studied a model Escherichia coli-induced pyelonephritis mice deficient components C3 and C4. Renal infection occurred less frequently C3- C4-deficient compared with wild-type mice. In vitro, epithelial cells internalized fewer bacteria absence or presence blockade bound to bacteria. Moreover, upregulation production by stimulation lipopolysaccharide enhanced bacterial internalization. Here provide evidence that uropathogenic E. coli might use host invade epithelium local is sufficient for achieve this effect.
