摘要: The present study was designed to determine the spatiotemporal patterns in water quality of River Soan using multivariate statistics. A total 26 sites were surveyed along and its associated tributaries during pre- post-monsoon seasons 2008. Hierarchical agglomerative cluster analysis (HACA) classified sampling into three groups according their degree pollution, which ranged from least high degradation quality. Discriminant function (DFA) revealed that alkalinity, orthophosphates, nitrates, ammonia, salinity, Cd variables significantly discriminate among identified by HACA. Temporal trends as through DFA COD, DO, pH, Cu, Cd, Cr could be attributed for major seasonal variations PCA/FA six factors potential sources pollution Soan. Absolute principal component scores multiple regression method (APCS–MLR) further explained percent contribution each source.
