Treatment with aripiprazole and topiramate in an obese subject with borderline personality disorder, obsessive-compulsive symptoms and bulimia nervosa: a case report

摘要: Introduction: Borderline personality disorder is a chronic mental associated with severe psychosocial impairment and morbidity, greater usage of health resources, high mortality rate.Althoughthereisnodrugwithanapprovedindicationforthisdisorder,pharmacologicaltreatment isacommonpracticebasedonthespecificbenefitofthedrugsontheremissionofthecoresymptomsof the disease. Case presentation: Authors reported case 37-year-old obese woman borderline disorder, obsessive-compulsive symptoms bulimia nervosa treated aripiprazole topiramate. Co-administration topiramate produced significant improvement all psychopathological dimensions, symptoms, eating disorder. Conclusion: could be safe effective longterm treatment for improving not only but also health-related quality life interpersonal problems.
