Towards a concurrent engine system design methodology

摘要: Today's hyper-competitive automotive marketplace places very stringent quality and productivity demands on the industry's manufacturers thus dictates an investment in new engineering processes methods. In this paper, engine design development process based Toyota's improvement vision is presented. The requires deployment of a model-based concurrent system methodology. Model has potential to enable engineers investigate alternatives, sensitivities, component integration compatibility prior building testing physical prototypes. These benefits could be further magnified by concurrency between various teams involved development. Tools methods needed implement are discussed.
