摘要: Since the discovery of odorant receptors (ORs) in rodents, most ORs have remained orphan receptors. Even for deorphanized vitro, their vivo properties are largely unknown. Here, we report odor response profiles two highly homologous mouse ORs, MOR29A and MOR29B, both vitro. The BAC transgenic was generated, which olfactory sensory neurons (OSNs) expressing transgenes MOR29B were differently tagged with IRES-gapECFP IRES-gapEYFP, respectively. MOR29A- MOR29B-expressing OSN axons converged on separate but nearby loci dorsal surface bulb (OB). Optical imaging intrinsic signals OB identified five different phenyl ethers as candidate ligands MOR29B. Based vitro calcium isolated OSNs luciferase assay heterologous cells, only guaiacol vanillin found to be potent agonists Because its accessible glomerular locations defined MOR29A/29B tagging will serve an excellent tool studying odor-signal processing neural circuitry OB.
