摘要: Summary Setting: F. J. Muniz Hospital and Department of Phthisiopneumonology, in Buenos Aires. Objective: To analyze bacteriological findings concerning tuberculosis other mycobacteriosis, association with HIV infection AIDS. Design: From June 1985 to December 1991, 2521 samples from 1259 HIV-seropositive AIDS patients were analyzed: 1133 bronchopulmonary origin the remaining 1388 extrapulmonary origin. Drug susceptibility tests performed using proportions method. Results: Mycobacterial disease was confirmed by culture 240 HIV/AIDS (19%). Mycobacterium isolated 223 these cases (92.9%) M. bovis two, while avium -complex (MAC) strains identified as cause 14 (5.8%). In only one case due kansasii . Blood cultures positive 21.2% cases. Resistance antituberculosis drugs found 9.4% isolates. multidrug resistance detected, a patient who had received previous treatment. Conclusion: Smear examination, although less sensitive than HIV-negative patients, still simple reliable tool for rapid diagnosis mycobacterial disease. aided successful about half disseminated all MAC An alarming spread detected among group HIV-positive prisoners, possible emergence should be anticipated.
