The effect of vitamin D as supplementary treatment in patients with moderately advanced pulmonary tuberculous lesion.

摘要: Aim to compare the vitamin D group of pulmonary tuberculosis patients with a placebo in terms clinical improvement, nutritional status, sputum conversion, and radiological improvement. Methods sixty seven patient visiting Pulmonary Clinic, Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital, Jakarta, from January 1st August 31st, 2001 were included this study. The subjects randomised receive (0.25 mg/day) or double blind method, during 6th initial week Tb treatment. rate complete blood counts, chemistry as well radiologic examination evaluated. Results there more male than females (39:28), 78.7% productive age group, 71.6% had low 62.4% education level, 67.2% income. One hundred percent only 76.7% conversion. This difference is statistically significant (p=0.002). Conclusion conversion no correlation hemoglobin clotting time, calcium lymphocyte count, age, sex, status. There improvement group.
