摘要: During vertebrate gastrulation, a ventral to dorsal gradient of bone morphogenetic protein (Bmp) activity establishes cell fates. Concomitantly, convergent extension movements narrow germ layers mediolaterally while lengthening them anteroposteriorly. Here, by measuring populations in vivo, we reveal the presence three domains zebrafish gastrula. Ventrally, convergence and are absent. Lateral converge extend at increasing speed until they reach domain where slows but remains strong. Using dorsalized ventralized mutants, demonstrate that these specified Bmp gradient. In vivo morphology behavior analyses indicated low levels might promote with little allowing mediolateral elongation dorsally biased intercalation. Further, single movement revealed high epibolic migration cells into tailbud, tail formation expense head trunk. We show limits negatively regulating expression wnt11 (silberblick) wnt5a (pipetail) genes, which required for not fate specification. Therefore, during activity, specifies fates, also regulates process extension.
