摘要: Abstract Methicillin (M), nafcillin (N), and oxacillin (OX) (400 mg administered intramuscularly every 8 hours) were compared in the therapy of left-sided endocarditis rabbits infected with two different strains Staphylococcus aureus . The three antibiotics equally effective eliminating staphylococci from cardiac vegetations. N OX four to eight times as active against M broth but had equivalent activity serum. peak levels serum at least twice level, half-life (2.1 was about that (0.6 (1.1 hours). Serum bactericidal tests demonstrated essentially equal 1 2 hours after injection; however, 4 6 an advantage over OX. Therefore, despite clear differences vitro activity, protein binding, pharmacodynamics, M, N, staphylcoccal rabbits.
