摘要: Background: Low serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D [25(OH)D] concentrations are commonly found in the elderly and associated with hip fracture. Treatment vitamin calcium can reduce risk of The relation between rise parathyroid hormone (PTH) age decrease 25(OH)D is not clear. Neither there any consensus on concentration required for bone health. Objective: Our objective was to study relations PTH, metabolites, other calcium-related variables postmenopausal women. Design: This a cross-sectional 496 women without vertebral fractures attending our menopausal osteoporosis clinics. Results: PTH significantly positively related 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin [1,25(OH) 2 D] inversely plasma ionized calcium. There step-like increase as fell below 40 nmol/L. In >40 nmol/L, 1,25(OH) 25(OH)D; ≤40 inverse. most closely PTH; (inversely) creatinine. Therefore, increasingly nmol/L (which lower limit normal range healthy young subjects) optimal
