摘要: While European governments have pursued illegalized migrants for decades, the techniques through which they do so taken a more radical turn since 2015. Focusing on particular case of Belgium, this paper documents how its Federal government has increasingly tried to “police” into refugee regime, while and citizens continued resist these efforts series “political” actions. Drawing ethnographic work with Brussels‐based Citizen Platform Support Refugees, I pursue two aims: first, demonstrate Belgian state consciously produced humanitarian crisis as part broader “politics exhaustion”; second, explore specific forms types action that emerge from citizens’ response policies. by describing three moments in opposing logics policing politicization conjure.
