摘要: Opportunistic infections are an increasingly common problem in hospitals, and the yeast Candida parapsilosis has emerged as important nosocomial pathogen. The aims of this study were to determine compare (i) prevalence rate among C. complex organisms isolated from blood a public children's hospital Sao Paulo state, (ii) ability species identified produce biofilm (iii) antifungal susceptibility profiles. Forty-nine (49) specimens analyzed, previously by conventional methods. After molecular analysis, isolates characterized sensu stricto (83.7 %), orthopsilosis (10.2 %) metapsilosis (6.1 %). All able form biofilm. with highest production was stricto, followed further metapsilosis. strains have demonstrated similar fluconazole, caspofungin, voriconazole, cetoconazole 5-flucytosine. Only one strain resistant amphotericin B. Regarding itraconazole, 66.6 43.9 % parapsilosis, respectively, be susceptible dose-dependent, isolate latter drug. less susceptible, mainly B, caspofungin "azoles" such fluconazole. Therefore, still involved restricted number infections, but these data become essential for there very few studies Latin America.
