摘要: Abstract Purpose The purpose of this study was to investigate mandibular stability after lengthening the mandible by means distraction. Materials and Methods Fifty patients (mean age, 14.7 years; range, 11.2 37.3 years) with Angle Class II hypoplasia were treated bilateral distraction osteogenesis lengthen mandible. Patients divided into a high-angle group, high angle (sella/nasion-mandibular plane [SN-MP] >38°), normal-to-low group (SN-MP ≤38°). Clinical measurements standardized cephalometric radiographs taken just before operation; postdistraction at time removal devices, 6 months 1 year postoperatively. Analysis performed measurements: sella/nasion-maxilla point A (SNA), sella/nasion-mandibular B (SNB), SN-MP. Results Eight 14 showed degree relapse (57%), only 3 36 in low/normal-angle (8.3%). Conclusion It can be concluded that are still risk relapsing cannot prevent cases angle. For low-angle patients, however, is safe predictable procedure.
