摘要: Today, a number of hot research fields such asbiotechnology, biomaterials, medicine and nano-technology may be interdisciplinary are heav-ily involved in the creation new asnanomedicine, tissue engineering regenerativemedicine (Fig. 1). Especially recent develop-ments nanotechnology biomaterials havebeen major force leading to formation ofthese fields.Research biomedical field Turkey hasbeen becoming increasingly competitive with theinternational labs comparable status. Varioussources funding especially through Euro-pean Union years have been influen-tial increasing integration these withtheir counterparts Europe, USA FarEast. Research has, for traditional reasons, beenconcentrated mostly on drug delivery, hard tissueimplants hydrogels. With contribution ofnanotechnology impetus has gained.Another is developments cell bi-ology, which led introduction tissue engi-neering into field. This article about activities carried out inTurkey as whole also specifically at theBiotechnology Unit (BRU) MiddleEast Technical University, part BIOMATResearch Group.
