摘要: By assembling and analyzing new panel data, we investigate the impact of important changes in HR practices on firm performance for a food-processing plant. Our principal economic data are most unusual – weekly records efficiency all four production lines plant during 1999-2005. Compared to other insider econometric studies our case experienced an degree change policies with introduction teams, company wide-profit sharing group system related pay (PRP) though technology did not change. We use theory detailed knowledge at develop core hypotheses concerning specific effects these particular plans. also consider why might vary across lines. Evidence that is largely derived from interviews mainly supports key hypotheses. empirical strategy estimate structural models. In three find, as predicted, addition PRP teams produces substantial productivity increases ranging 9 20%, while remaining line there no productivity. provide additional more qualitative evidence bears subsidiary hypotheses, e.g. product quality worker incomes. findings thus some first disaggregated importance complementarities among policies. support those have shown crucial plan design context surrounding implementation payoffs.
